On-the-Road Sales Representative – Expressions of Interest
Love Plants? Love People? Join the Growing Spectrum Team on the Road.
Are you someone who builds great relationships, enjoys being on the move, and has a natural flair for sales and customer care? We're looking for a motivated, people-focused individual to represent Growing Spectrum across the Central and Northern North Island — from Taupō to North of Auckland. This is your chance to bring your love of plants and people together in a rewarding, flexible role.
About the Role:
This newly created, part-time, permanent role is all about connection. As our On-the-Road Sales Representative, you'll be the face of Growing Spectrum for key clients across the North Island. You’ll visit garden centres and retail partners, build trusted relationships, showcase our latest plant ranges, gather feedback, and ensure our customers feel well-supported and informed.
You’ll work closely with the in-house sales and leadership teams, providing insights from the road and helping us maintain our reputation as one of New Zealand’s leading plant nurseries. Flexibility is key — travel and nursery visits can be scheduled to align with our dispatch timetable and your lifestyle.
What You'll Be Doing:
Customer Relationships: Visit existing clients across the Central & Northern North Island (1–2 days per week), offering sales support, answering product queries, and ensuring each customer has a great experience with Growing Spectrum.
Sales Support & Feedback: Showcase new plants, take orders, collect and relay customer feedback, and follow up on enquiries. Ensure orders are aligned with customer needs and nursery stock.
Planning & Reporting: Plan travel routes efficiently, keep detailed visit notes, and provide regular feedback to the in-house sales and leadership teams to help improve service and processes.
Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with new products, seasonal ranges, and dispatch schedules to confidently assist customers and maximise sales opportunities.
Brand Representation: Act as a friendly, professional ambassador for Growing Spectrum — whether you’re visiting clients, at the nursery, or on the road.
Key Skills and Experience:
A warm, approachable personality with excellent listening and communication skills
Sales or customer service experience — ideally in horticulture, retail, or logistics
Highly self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently
Confidence to manage your own schedule and plan travel efficiently
Comfortable providing written and verbal feedback to the internal team
Understanding of the plant or nursery industry is a strong advantage
Logistics knowledge or experience working with dispatch and stock movement is desirable
A current NZ driver’s licence is essential
Flexibility to travel within the region (Taupō to North of Auckland)
Why Join Us?
Be part of a respected, family-owned nursery business with strong industry relationships
Work with a passionate and supportive team
Enjoy a flexible schedule that fits around your lifestyle
Competitive pay and meaningful work representing a trusted NZ brand
