Truck Drivers – Permanent, Full-Time Positions

We’re looking for capable and dependable truck drivers to join the Growing Spectrum team, with two full-time roles available:

Class 5 Truck Driver
Class 2–5 Truck Driver

These are full-time roles for people who enjoy variety in their day, take real care with every load, and understand the importance of representing a business well out on the road. Previous trucking or freight experience is essential, and experience handling nursery stock or similar products would be an advantage. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to pitch in are just as important as experience.

As a Truck Driver, you’ll play a key role in helping get our plants safely and efficiently to customers across New Zealand. These roles involve more than just driving — you’ll also be responsible for loading and unloading stock with care, maintaining your vehicle to a high standard, adapting to changing delivery schedules, and supporting nursery operations when needed.

This is a physical, hands-on role, so you’ll need to be practical, fit, and comfortable with the demands of loading, unloading, and working across different parts of the operation. You’ll also need to be organised and comfortable working independently while staying connected with the wider team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Carry out scheduled delivery runs safely and efficiently, ensuring plants arrive on time and in excellent condition.
• Create load and delivery plans for truck runs, secure stock on trolleys, and load trucks safely and effectively.
• Unload deliveries with care and follow customer instructions regarding placement and trolley exchange where required.
• Communicate any delivery changes or issues promptly, and stay flexible as schedules shift during busy periods.
• Complete vehicle checks, keep your truck clean and roadworthy, and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
• Complete and maintain an accurate logbook and record all proof of deliveries.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service and represent Growing Spectrum positively at every stop.
• Assist with stock returns and support nursery operations during quieter delivery periods as needed.
• Freight runs vary with timing, but can start as early as 2:00am and may include overnight stays.

What We’re Looking For:

A current Class 5 licence is required for the Class 5 role. For the second role, we’re looking for a driver with a current Class 2 licence, with Class 4 or 5 experience preferred.

We’re looking for people who are reliable, punctual, physically fit, and take pride in their work. You’ll need good organisational and time management skills, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to adapt to changing workloads and seasonal demands. A professional manner, initiative, and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and the wider team are all important.
