We supply an extensive range of premium quality native and non-native plants. Our robust quality control systems ensure we keep a watchful eye on our plants from propagation to dispatch. Excellent Service & Support
We have a vibrant team of 34 staff who are motivated, knowledgeable and eager to help you. Two full-time sales reps visit garden centres throughout the North Island on a fortnightly cycle with emphasis on building relationships that are long term and beneficial to both parties.
To back up the sales team we have very knowledgeable staff in the office who are available each day to answer your questions. Our website allows you to easily search for plant availability and information online. We also focus on supporting retailers by providing a range of marketing and point of sale material.
Prompt Delivery
Plants are delivered to clients in the North Island in the same week of ordering wherever possible. This is almost unique in our industry but we use our own delivery trucks to ensure stringent delivery schedules are maintained. Recent initiatives mean we are now also supplying plants to more and more South Island garden centres.
Who We Are - Awards/History
Growing Spectrum was established in 1988 by Peter and Carol Fraser and has grown to a vibrant company employing 34 full-time staff. We have come a long way from our small beginnings and are currently producing over 400,000 plants per annum from our 24 acre growing area.
In the wholesale nursery sector, it is common for nurseries to grow and supply plants of varying quality qrades for different purposes. Of all the different sectors, the highest-grade plants are reserved for garden centres, who require premium quality plants and flowers to sell at retail level.
We made a conscious choice over ten years ago to specialise in serving only the garden centre market. This means that everything that we do is focused is on producing the premium quality plants you need. We have earned the trust and respect of our industry as a result of this approach and we were thrilled to win the Daltons Nursery of the Year Award in 2007.
Over the past 5 years Growing Spectrum has made a concerted effort to move toward environmental sustainability. Recognizing that man-made chemicals can have severe side effects on our environment we have implemented an integrated pest management system.
Our Production Manager has developed a comprehensive plan, which is constantly reviewed and evolving as our knowledge of pest life cycles and negative environmental impacts increases. Our goal is to maintain a natural balance of pest populations as opposed to total pest eradication with harsh chemicals, which eliminates both good and bad predators.
